First Hawaiian Bank Lihue Branch
A new Kauai bank branch organized around two buildings and a central courtyard
Located in Lihue on Kauai, the new First Hawaiian Bank branch was designed by AHL as a contemporary, community-focused banking environment.
The project is organized as two separate buildings connected by an open-air courtyard, creating a more relaxed and approachable experience compared to a traditional single-structure branch. This layout allows natural light and landscape to play a central role in how customers and staff move through the space.
The design emphasizes transparency, durability, and long-term performance, with sustainable strategies integrated throughout the project.
Architectural photography for this project focused on capturing the relationship between the two buildings, the courtyard as a central gathering space, and the balance between interior environments and the surrounding landscape.
